I hope you are able to spend some time shopping in local shops and boutiques this Holiday Season.  Shopping local keeps the money flowing through our communities, helps build the local economy and helps the community grow.   Usually, you will find that the shopping experience within a local shop is a more distinctive and personal.  There are such incredible boutiques with some of the nicest people running them!!   You never know what hidden gems you may find.  Take this blouse, for example,  it was a “shop local ” find from North Shore Exchange.

How Do You Tie Your Scarves?

Clients often ask “how do you tie your scarves?” So I thought I should share with you all the best ways I like to tie mine.  A scarf can add quite a bit of flavor to an outfit without much effort!  Go floral, bright, neutral, striped, textured…whichever feels best with your look.  I hope this helps:

A Great To Piece To Have In Your Closet

Chicago Personal StylistCapes……such an easy “throw on and go” piece.  It’s cozy with such ease that it works over jeans, skirts, and even workout pants!  This is just one of those pieces that gives you a put-together look without much effort.

You can go with color or a more subdued sort of Ralph Lauren-esque look.  Below are some of my favorites.  Enjoy!!

Ready To Be More Confidently YOU?

If you want to shift into a more confident you, I have a phenomenal experience I would love to share with you.

My best gal friend Katie and I just did a powerful workshop called Confidence Inside and Out.

***We talked mindset, beliefs, and actions to take to be your confident self.

*** Katie talked about stepping into the confident version of you and how it feels to be confident and what are the real feelings you desire.

***I talked about owning your personal style and dressing how you want to feel.

***We decided that since not everyone could join us in person but more women NEED this workshop that we’d offer it virtually.

***So you get the filmed sessions (we edited out some of the personal sharing.) and are sharing them with you.

*** You don’t get to go shopping with us and get those gifts (reserved for the in-person event). …however we did add some goodies

*** We threw in some bonuses for you like meditations, journal prompts joyful activities and a style guide for all your shopping needs.

You receive this workshop instantly AND have it for life!

Mixing Giving Back With A Great Jeans Brand

Chicago Personal Stylist

Mixing giving back to feed those in need with a great brand (with the BEST jeans) is a match made in styling heaven!

Part of my mission in doing what I do as a stylist is to give back to our community. I love shopping at the local boutiques, volunteering at the soup kitchen with my husband, and helping out when I can.  So when the opportunity arises that I am able to style people while the money goes to a cause, I’m ALL in!

Join me at Madewell downtown, Tuesday the 21st, with my styling team!  Jenna, Lindsay, & I will be putting looks together, finding the best accessories for your outfits, and talking about what best fits your body.  A portion of the proceeds will go to Common Pantry, to help with providing on Thanksgiving.

No pressure to shop, but feel free to come on in and check out the store!  I would love, love to see you!!

My Tips On Getting Ready For Date Night

Date nights are incredible and never seem to happen enough.  But when one arises, you want to be ready for it (and feel sassy as well!).

They always seem to sneak up or you try to fit it in quickly right after work. With the rush of it all, even if it’s on a weekend, it’s still tough to “just throw something on & add lipstick” …and still feel beautiful. Here is a quick run-down of ideas/my thoughts on how to feel fun and pulled together for the date nights with your partner (or your gals).

Great essentials for any style are:
A silk blouse  (white or patterned)
Jazzy earrings
Your favorite hair product that is travel size
Black sleeveless turtleneck
A pencil skirt (floral or black)
And of course Lipstick
A black suede booty

Look Beautiful And Put Together The Easy Way

No matter the time of year, dresses are just an easy way to have a “put together look” .

The only difference now is needing to put tights underneath to keep warm.

Use tights/ hose to your advantage to edge up the look or keep it sleek.

Wear a black dress with navy tights & black, or a brown dress with black tights & brown booties, (toss on a necklace or scarf if it feels right!).

If you’d like to just throw on a dress, these are great for a bootie, riding boot or great loafer.

Since the dresses are so bold, just toss on black tights & you’re good to go!

It’s all about getting dressed with ease!

Jean Hems For Fall

Jean Hems For Fall:

Denim is such a go-to and designers and brands have “stepped it up” with making simple jeans have a bit of a twist. Distressed hems can be found anywhere from Target, to Anthropologie, to Mother.
I think these bottoms give your look an instant edge. I love booties, sneakers, and heels with these raw and cut ends.
If you’d like to take this trend one step more, you could try the button-fly. This is more of a 70’s vibe that is coming back for this Fall.  Try a new pair or make your own jean bottom to jazz up your jeans this season.
