My Tips On Getting Ready For Date Night

Date nights are incredible and never seem to happen enough.  But when one arises, you want to be ready for it (and feel sassy as well!).

They always seem to sneak up or you try to fit it in quickly right after work. With the rush of it all, even if it’s on a weekend, it’s still tough to “just throw something on & add lipstick” …and still feel beautiful. Here is a quick run-down of ideas/my thoughts on how to feel fun and pulled together for the date nights with your partner (or your gals).

Great essentials for any style are:
A silk blouse  (white or patterned)
Jazzy earrings
Your favorite hair product that is travel size
Black sleeveless turtleneck
A pencil skirt (floral or black)
And of course Lipstick
A black suede booty

Look Beautiful And Put Together The Easy Way

No matter the time of year, dresses are just an easy way to have a “put together look” .

The only difference now is needing to put tights underneath to keep warm.

Use tights/ hose to your advantage to edge up the look or keep it sleek.

Wear a black dress with navy tights & black, or a brown dress with black tights & brown booties, (toss on a necklace or scarf if it feels right!).

If you’d like to just throw on a dress, these are great for a bootie, riding boot or great loafer.

Since the dresses are so bold, just toss on black tights & you’re good to go!

It’s all about getting dressed with ease!

Jean Hems For Fall

Jean Hems For Fall:

Denim is such a go-to and designers and brands have “stepped it up” with making simple jeans have a bit of a twist. Distressed hems can be found anywhere from Target, to Anthropologie, to Mother.
I think these bottoms give your look an instant edge. I love booties, sneakers, and heels with these raw and cut ends.
If you’d like to take this trend one step more, you could try the button-fly. This is more of a 70’s vibe that is coming back for this Fall.  Try a new pair or make your own jean bottom to jazz up your jeans this season.

Beautiful Silk Scarves

Argaman and Defiance

One of my favorite parts of my job is shopping local, meeting new designers, working with Boutiques, and simply making connections.  One I want to rave about is the designer of the incredibly beautiful, fun and funky brand, Argaman and Defiance.

The best part is I have already found that no matter my clients’ style – their scarves can be tied into any look.  I got a chance to visit the studio and it has an aura of creative awesomeness (if that is even a description?!).  Here is the link to check it out for yourself.  Shop local and still be stylish? A total win-win.

Mixing Up Patterns!

Looking to add a little flair into your wardrobe? A style move that may seem intimidating yet very rewarding, is mixing patterns! This may seem like a big step for some, but there are ways to transition your wardrobe into the fun of mixing and matching patterns! First, is start off small by replacing a solid shirt of your outfit with a soft print! The next step would be knowing your neutrals; patterns can be used as neutrals, so using stripes and leopard print are a perfect way to add the pattern flair you are looking for! Lastly, playing with the same pattern but switching up the sizes can also be mixing patterns. Take a vertical striped shirt as well as vertical striped trousers with different sizing and it’s a classic sleek look!

Four Boutiques… One Look!

I just love boutiques! Maybe it’s the small-town feel of knowing the owners, the unique pieces they carry, or how great they smell (I think it’s a combo of all!).  I have been shopping at a few in the city that I can’t get enough of and had to share their info.

See below my favorite pieces from each store that create a great summer look!
