Newest Trend for Fall 2018

It's that awesome time of year where layers are needed (and happen to easily "step up" any outfit).

The focus in this letter are on blazers, but all jackets apply here.  Whether you're going the old school Julia Roberts' Pretty Woman double-breasted blazer route, a classic navy or black, or a textured tweed, blazers add the finished look over a tee, blouse, or sweater.

Some Tips:

*When checking for fit- do the driving test & put your arms out like you’re driving a car.  This will tell you how snug the back is.

*The seam should fall right on the edge of your shoulder and arm.

*Is there a fun lining or button detail?

The new(er) thing stores and boutiques have been selling are “Shackets,” where sweaters meet jackets.  These blazers are a way to polish a look with serious comfort.
If a Shackets seems a bit too casual for your job/occasion, I’ve listed some other options that I loved.

And Just a Little Something I Wanted to Share:

We joining the fight against Brain Cancer by participating in the Head for the Cure Chicago 5K on Sunday, October 21, 2018, held at Diversey Harbor. The race begins at 8:00 a.m.

Funds raised by Head for the Cure support the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, a network of local and national medical centers with the expertise and desire to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials investigating new treatments for malignant brain tumors. Head for the Cure works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, and caregivers. This organization is dedicated to raising funds for much-needed brain cancer research. They also provide emotional and educational support for patients as well as their families at local hospitals’ brain cancer treatment centers.

Each year, over 200,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. More than 120 types of brain tumors exist, making effective treatment complicated. Cutting-edge research is needed as we continue to make strides in this fight to treat and cure these tumors.

Please consider making a donation, or run or walk with us, to help us reach our goal and enable Head for the Cure to defeat brain cancer, step by step. Click HERE and should take you directly to Staunton’s Striders donation page.

Let’s make this our greatest year ever!

My best to all, Staunton, Annie, Staunton and new baby girl, Kyle
